Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the common questions we get asked regarding The GirlsBike2 opportunity. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to phone us at 01462 434350.

1)         Is there a real need for your store?

The products that we are supplying are in high demand. The bottom line is women are not catered for adequately by the industry, progress in product availability is painfully slow, everything is geared to the male, the shapes and designs of the clothing/ gear and the majority of the marketing too. There’s an enormous gap in the market that GirlsBike2 is filling.

2)         What’s the competition like?

Having done extensive research into the marketplace it is clear that the competition is extremely limited. The main competitors focus on providing clothes for men, and women are shortchanged when it comes to product range and service – “you can have any shade of black Madam”, other outlets focus on the male market and do not stock the ranges, some even suggest GirlsBike2 to their customers.

3)         What type of person is perfect for this business?

We are very selective about the people we take on board. Why? Because our success is directly related to your success. Therefore we can’t afford to accept just anyone.

For starters you must have the following qualities, or we won’t even consider you (please also see the list in the section titled, ‘Who Is This Perfect For? A Typical Franchisee, And Franchisee Profile’…

·         A passion for motorbikes, mopeds and motorcycling

·         Someone looking to combine their passion with a real business opportunity

·         Can provide excellent customer service

·         Are highly motivated

·         Highly disciplined

·         Are confident of running their own business

·         Are able to communicate easily with others

·         Can manage a project successfully from start to finish

And most importantly…

·         Have the drive, desire, and ambition to be the best!

4)         Can I really achieve a turnover in excess of £100,000 in my first year?

Yes you can. It may sound hard to believe, but because we have identified a gap in the market place to provide our products you can easily reach this level.

But don’t for one minute think that it’s a ‘walk in the park.’ You still have to earn your money! You do have to put the effort in, but because the demand for our products is growing fast you can really drive your business success.

Around 13,000 new women learn to ride a bike every year, that’s a huge number of women that will need a full set of motorbike clothes and accessories, the market continues to grow year on year.

5)         What support structure do you have in place?

We believe that the support structure of any Franchise organisation is one of the most important aspects of running a successful Franchise.

You have to know that you’ll never be left alone ‘to get on with it.’ Of course our training is so detailed you won’t need constant supervision, but you will need help from time to time.

That’s why we have a structure in place that ensures your success…

Franchisees are supported by their Franchise Manager and by the Franchisors Julie & Claire.

We guarantee you’ll never feel alone. You’ll never have to worry about anything. You’ll be comforted in the knowledge that we place huge value on supporting you and all our other Franchisees.

6)         How does your training and systems compare to other Franchise organisations?

We are experts in this industry. We know it inside out. Our training procedures and manuals reflect the systematic approach we take with our business. We believe we offer the best training available.

With a-b-c type, step-by-step instructions, and an attention to detail that will stagger you, we know we can develop you into a true expert in running a GirlsBike2 store in just 5 days flat!

We don’t accept everyone as Franchisees, but those that qualify already have the basic skills – we just give them the tools of our trade!

7)         How much is the Franchise fee?

The Franchise fee increases after every training course. At the moment it’s just £14,000 +VAT. Of course in addition, there is the shop to fit out and your opening stock to fund. Total initial investment in your asset including our Franchisee fee will be around £55,000 + VAT depending upon the part of the country you are operating in. On going there is a monthly management service fee paid to the Franchisor, this is set at 9% of the store turnover, net of VAT and before other costs.

What does the Total investment cost include?

  • 5 day residential training course
  • Your own GirlsBike2 store, full shop fit, and equipment ready for you to open for business.
  • Initial stock for the store
  • Central stock ordering
  • Centrally agreed deals with suppliers to benefit from bulk purchasing

  • Exclusive ranges
  • Exclusive promotions
  • Sales and Marketing support with a full programme of activity for year one

8)         What are the typical working hours/week?

Retail can mean long hours but is very rewarding. We recommend that the stores are open from 9am to 5.30pm Tuesday to Saturday and 11am till 5pm on Sundays.

9)                 Can I open more than one store?

Yes, once you have a store up and running successfully, generating good turnover and profit, you will be able to purchase another territory and open another store, greatly increasing your earning potential.

10)             How many stores will you be opening?

We are only going to open another 24 stores in the UK, making 25 including the Hitchin store, so be quick. We will however be expanding into Europe in 2007.
